Tea and Tomatoes

Tea First

Hi! Kaya here! Quick update on the overnight brewing experiment. It did get a bit darker over night.
However, I checked the tea tin and we have Octavia's ginger peach white tea; not black. (laughing) So it won't get any darker than this anyway!

Another thing I learned after posting yesterday is the infuser has a built in drip tray. Check it out!

Cool, huh?
Now over to Lanie! Take it away, sis!

Tomato Harvest

Woo hoo! It's time to harvest the tomato!
Look at how lovely and red it is.
Oh! Wow! There is another little tomato starting on this same plant!
A bigger one on the other plant. AND that one has more flowers on it! We'll have more than one tomato after all!
I've got it in my basket...
(walks back into the house)
Hmmm, what should I do with this tomato? (thinks a bit) I've got it! Tomato sandwiches!
Bread, mayo, and tomato slices. Perfect!
Put it together. Hmmm, doesn't seem to be enough for more than one sandwich. Well, we can use the rest on a salad.
This bread is thicker than I thought.
Looks like Texas toast! (giggles)
MMMMMMM! So yummy!

Do you grow your own tomatoes? If yes, what do you do with them? Do you like tomato sandwiches?  Or do you make something else?

So glad you stopped! See you again soon!

  1. I grew some a while ago , and sometimes my uncle brings over his homegrown ones :) We usually eat them as a side with our dinner , as a salad or just sliced with ranch !

    1. That sounds wonderful too. Xyra found a great recipe for tomato salad the other day that used five different kinds of tomatoes.

    1. Nice! BLTs are wonderful! It's fun to share from the garden. I've had tomatoes for breakfast; usually with eggs. :)

  3. Yes, tomatoes are probably my favorite thing to grow, nothing tastes as good as a homegrown one. We like fresh garden salsa and BLT's.

    1. I noticed our basil is looking pretty good, so I picked up some fresh mozzarella...will make caprese salad and sliders (using larger tomatoes from a local organic grower).
