Meatloaf's Rail Adventures #14

The Adirondack Railroad

How do you usher in Autumn?  By riding the rails, of course.  September 23 Franz, Xyra, and Meatloaf packed up the truck and headed north to Old Forge, New York.  It was a gorgeous trip north.

But when they got there it was winter!  The hotel desk mentioned they had snow that morning.  Good thing they were prepared.  They met up with friends, set the cars on the line, then had dinner at a place called the Mill.

Saturday

The next morning started early, at sun up.  The group had set on at Thendara Station and headed north to Tupper Lake.  There were some interesting challenges with the dew-slick rails.

Then they headed back south and finished at sun down.

Sunday

Sunday morning the group started at Thendara Station and headed south toward Utica.  They encountered the same slick rail situation as Saturday morning and had to stop much shorter than their target destination.

It was okay, they got to explore the river bank while waiting for the rail bikes to clear the rails.

Then they headed back to Thendara.

Everyone was set off and loaded by the time the rain hit.  Time to head back to PA.

They really enjoyed the scenery and fellowship!  What is your favorite photo?  Have you ever visited the Adirondacks?

Thank you for stopping!  We plan to have more posts for you this month.  Guess what's next...time for Coolspring. Unfortunately, the gang from Say Hello to My Little Friends won't make it this time.  And, of course, Halloween!

Have a great day!  Thank you for stopping by!
