Wonderful Surprises

Still Celebrating My Birthday

Hey, Coco! Look what Lady Dartia sent us! A copy of The Princess Bride. Fabulous! I love that movie!
(wagging tail) Yip.
There's even a movie companion to it!
(wagging, gently panting)
Now, I wonder what's in this one. I don't see a tag.
(laughing) This is Lady Vanyer! She's so awesome. Look at this new hat and scarf. Beautiful color!
(wagging)
But there's still more. (unwrapping tissue)
Another hat! With a pom pom! And it goes with the scarf too! What do you think? Cute?
(wagging, jumps up, gives kisses)
(giggles)
You're going to have to get down. Sorry girl.
Thank you, Lady Dartia! Thank you, Lady Vanyer!

Isn't wonderful when you can celebrate your birthday all month long?

Which is your favorite hat?

Best wishes,

The Bookish Pair Up Tag

Tag Reveal!

Back in August The AG Homeschooler at AG's Wondrous World posted a book tag she found posted by Sam from Red Head With a Book. It's an open tag, you can nominate or just do the tag. We liked it and put it aside to do in the future. Guess what? It's the future.

So here's what you do, you write down 30 fictional characters from a variety of favorite books.
Look at all your books, don't just write down everyone from Harry Potter or Percy Jackson.
Although...it would be interesting to see how that turns out too.
Oooo.
Hold it! We're doing this per the "rules" first.
Okay.
After you have your names, fold them and place them in a basket or bowl...
Or hat.
Or flowerpot. (giggles)
Or purse. (giggles)
They get the idea. Then you take out two at a time.
Don't look!
But take photos of the draw
And explain why that character is a good fit for the question.
Here we go...

You have one more spot on your spelling team. Who gets it?
One? Shouldn't that be two.
I guess we have to pick the one from the pair that are trying out for the team.
That makes sense.
Who do we have?
Michael Glass and Septimus Heap
That's a tough one. I think I'd go with Michael because he would be more familiar with traditional spellings over magical spellings.

Both characters want to kill you. Who do you kill first to have a better chance at survival?
Hmm, not sure I like this question.
Well, let's see what happens.
Caleb and Tonks!
Nope! Neither of those characters would try to kill me unless I were a demon or death eater.
I agree. We're changing the question to...You're in a dark alley and someone is trying to kill you. who comes to your aid first?
Easy peasy! Tonks. She'd fire off a curse before Caleb could tackle the criminal.

You've been chosen for the Hunger Games. Which Character would most likely volunteer in your place?

Kazul or Jem Carstairs...
Jem. He's just that kind of guy!

You're the next Marvel superhero. Who is your sidekick?
Alice Cullen or Joe Hardy? Wow! That's a tough choice.
Yeah, Alice doesn't seem like a sidekick.
Joe doesn't either?
Alice definitely has the better powers. (giggles)
And the best shopping sense! Just think of your hero outfits!
(laughing)

You're stranded on a deserted island and must engage in cannibalism to survive. Who do you eat?
Okay, seriously do not like this question.
Me either. If it's an island like Gilligan's I'm going vegetarian.
You bet! Hearts of palm, coconut, bananas are good for me.
I'll go fishing.
Can we get back to the tag?
Okay. Gilda Joyce or Tumtum.
Yeah, not eating either one.
So the new or ammended question is...you're on a deserted island, who will be better at locating food and fresh water?
I'll take Tumtum for that; she has the better sniffer.
[murmurs of agreement]

You are the manager of an avocado company. Who would you fire for poor communication skills?
Pick again, Hal.
Okay. (reaches into bowl) Cristyn or Seikei.
Hmmm. Seikei. he keeps so many secrets as a detective.

You've just finished a book in which your favorite character dies. which character would be most likely to comfort you?
I pulled Brianna Justice and Elliot.

Definitely Elliot; he's more empathetic and supportive.
I don't know, Brianna learned a lot by the end of The President of the Whole Fifth Grade.
True, but Elliot was more sympathetic from the beginning.

Your birthday has finally arrived. Who would have the nerve to forget?
Who did you pull, Lanie?
Ida Bidson and Emily the Strange.
That's an easy pair.
You bet! It's Emily all the way.

You have just found an upcoming YouTube star. Who is it more likely to be?

(reaches into bucket) Oh!
Clara Gardner or Eve Rosser!
Those are both mine!
That's another easy one. Eve all the way. She can give tips to Goth girls and non-Goth girls!
(laughing)

You can only invite one person to your sleepover. Who would it be?

K, who did you pick?
(laughing) Enola Holmes and Seth Clearwater.
Good choices.
Obviously, Enola would be invited to the sleepover.
(giggles) But what if you need a space heater?!
(lots of laughter)

You have just woken up and it's time for breakfast. Your mom has been replaced by whom?
Your turn, Melly.
Who did you pick?
Lucy Pevensie and Qwill
Ateara? (giggles)
(giggles) No, Qwill with a "w" from The Cat Who.
(giggles)
Hmmm, I think I'd take Lucy, she can make a proper cuppa. Qwill only makes coffee, blech!
(giggles)

Bam, you're pregnant. Who's the father/mother?
Whoa!
Wait...what?
(laughing)
Pick again, Mel!
I have Anne Shirley and Nancy Drew.
Let's see...I can't choose. They'd both be great.
True, true!

You have just written a super important text. Who would have the nerve not to reply?
Who did you get, Elee?
Hero Netherfeld and Yumyum. (giggles)
Another easy one. Yum yum, of course. She'd steal the cell phone.
(laughing)
Why would you be texting a cat?
Why not?
Good point. (giggles)

You're on the Bachelor/Bachelorette and down to two. Who gets your rose?
Percy Jackson or Magnus Bane? Magnus hands down!
He's got style and flash! (sighs)
And is loyal!

Okay, Sam Only had 14 questions and used 28 of her 30 characters. So did The AG Homeschooler. Since we contributed 4 characters each, including Xyra, that's thirty-two characters, we made up two additional questions.

You have a free afternoon and want to go to a book store/movie/tea room. Who drops everything to accompany you?
Who did you pull, Kirsten?
Ashlyn Lanski and Hermione Granger.
Did you say books and tea? Gee, who should that be?
(giggles) Hermione, of course!

Last question! You're attending a masquerade, who helps choose your costume?
Abbie Adams or Nutmeg?!
Oh, tough choice.
Yeah.
Well, I like Nutmeg, but I bet Abbie would be better at helping with this.

We tag any of our followers who like to read. Actually, if anyone is interested, please feel free to snag this tag. ENJOY!

Best wishes,
