Iced Tea Review: The Repbulic of Tea

The Republic of Tea: Ginger Peach

Spring has sprung forward right to summer, but I know it won't last long. However, in the meantime the higher temperatures remind me it is time to start brewing iced tea! Fresh brewed is almost always better than canned or bottled. You can control the strength and sweetness.

There are lots of ways to brew your own iced tea. Today I'm going to use our Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker. Most of the instructions are on the pitcher.
Fill water to the water line and pour into the tower.
Then add ice to the ice line. Oops! We don't have enough ice.
Oh, well. You just add water to the ice. We like our tea unsweetened. If we liked it sweet I would have added sugar to the ice too.

Now for the tricky part...adding the tea. Today I am using The Republic of Tea Ginger Peach.
We've found that using 4 tea bags when making 2 quarts of iced tea provides a full body tea without being too strong. I'll put the tea bags in blue filter chamber. Now the pot goes under the tower, I press the button, and off we go!

It's fun to watch the dark tea mix with the water and ice.
The ice melts pretty quickly too.

Done! For this part I need help. The top or filter chamber is steaming.
Xyra, will you remove the blue filter chamber.
Of course. Ow, ow, ow! Yikes, that's hot!
Thank you.
You're welcome.
While the filter part is really hot, the tea in the pitcher is cold and ready to drink.
It smells fabulous! The peach aroma is strongest, but the ginger gives it a little edge. It has a nice dark amber color. So grab your favorite glass and pour.
Doesn't it look refreshing?

Yum! I love ginger peach iced tea.
Fruity and spicy (not like pepper) and exotic. Very smooth and refreshing. The peach even sweetens the tea without needing extra sugar. Perfect for a hot day.

Have you ever tried ginger peach tea? What is your favorite refreshing drink during the spring and summer?

So glad you stopped. Come again soon!

  1. I love homemade lemonade or ice tea on a hot summer day ! The secret to our lemonade is home grown mint - gives the drinks a fresh flavor !

  2. We have ginger pear, and a green tea white peach from Eastern Shores, but no ginger peach. I cold brew our ice tea (we call it ice tea up here). For two quarts I do six Red Rose teabags, and two green tea teabags (to put a little healthiness in it). I use white sugar and a couple squirts of organic lemon juice from a plastic lemon. Sometimes I do use real lemons and I like to put the slices in the pitcher because it looks nice. :)

    1. I think when I say it, I don't say the "d" and say ice tea. I should really find out the appropriate term.

      Your recipe sounds tasty!
