Tea Review: Jolie Maman

Tea for Tuesday #16

Hot or Cold

(giggles) translation, please!

Hello, friends! How are you? It's hot here. I'm excited about today's tea. Today's tea is Jolie Maman from Les Jardins de Gaia. It's now named Un amour de Maman.
This tea was a gift from Nonna and a lovely addition to our tea collection and shelf. Origianally it was called Jolie Maman or Pretty Mom. I'm not sure why they changed the name.
It's a combination of green and black tea flavored with strawberry, lotus, and lychee, plus rose, cornflower, and sunflower petals.

This tube is double sealed with an inner plastic lid.
Pretty, isn't it?
Here is another look.
I'm steeping in a glass mug.
Here you can see the tea leaves open.
I'm going to pour out from this little pot. Since it is a fruity tea our plate is filled with a variety of pastries.
It's a lovely color a mix of amber and jade.
First sip, plain.
Tasty. Light. A little floral and a little fruity.

Bonbon, those aren't for you.

I've added a little bit of regular sugar.
Second sip.
Also very nice. The sugar amplifies the fruits a bit more.

Okay, so this is a nice tea. Not my favorite hot. Very pleasant.
This one can be difficult to find.

It does make a wonderful unsweetened iced tea.

Additional Notes

  • Jolie Maman can be resteeped.
  • Tea experts will not like this comment...this blend can be brewed using a drip coffee maker (one that has never seen coffee). It can also be resteeped in the same manner. The result⎼great combination of flavors; very relaxing.

What is your favorite summer beverage?

À bientôt!

  1. I still love this one. You can't oversteep it which is great and when I drink half and forget about it until it's cool, it's still great!

    1. I really like it best through the tea maker. Perfect steep both times and the stuff that sits in the carafe for a bit is great over ice! Thank you for adding it to our collection!
