Travel Update

Many Thanks

Hi! Well, Stella certainly rocked our travel plans. Xyra and I were waiting at our gate in the Reno airport when she got a text stating the flight from Denver to Philly was cancelled. We went right away to the ticket counter and got re-ticketed for another day...Wednesday. Then we called Gramma Enne and Opa Hans. They had been to the Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Reno and we hoped they were still there, but they weren't. We went outside to wait for them to head back to Carson City.
We are very thankful for all the prayers and well wishes for our safe travel. You helped us stay safe.

Yesterday we left Carson City and made it to Philly by 11pm; almost 15 minutes earlier than expected.

Then the next adventure began...uncovering the car and digging out. Xyra had thought she wouldn't need help, but gave up around 12:20 AM and called the dispatch hut for assistance. We were on the road by 12:45 after the guys used the right tools to break the icy snow around our tires. We pulled into our home driveway at 1:30 and got cleaned up and went to bed.  Still really tired though, so if any of the friends we met out in Carson City are checking in, please keep checking. We'll start trip posting tomorrow. 😊

Thank you again for all your prayers!

A bientôt! 💖

  1. Oh dear! I'm glad you're back safely, but the iced and frozen car sounds a little harrowing. Good thinking to get help. I had a friend who went to Arizona and when she came back she couldn't find her car because of snow (she was in the roof deck). I have never forgotten that!

    1. Yikes! It wasn't too bad. I parked in a private/gated lot near the airport and was in contact with the staff on both Monday and Wednesday. they had extra drivers on hand willing to help shovel or break out anyone in need.
