It's Done!
I finished hemming and tacking our converted onesie. The ends of the ribbon were a little trickier than I had anticipated. This type of ribbon will fray, so I put lots of stitches (vertical, horizontal, x) where the ends meet hoping to keep that from happening. Can you make a matching headband?
Sure, Why not?
I took the ribbon I used for the hem embellishment and unrolled enough to go around Lanie's head and tie a bow. Then I cut the one end and trimmed the other with the pinking shears and rewound the rest of the ribbon.
Here Lanie is modeling the finished product with the OG boots and cream AG tights.
(To really finish the dress I need to press or iron the hem - will do that soon.)
I know you can do this too. Just find a "NB" or "0-3 mos" onesie (the dollar store has them) and go from there. Have fun!
Best wishes,
It came out adorable!
ReplyDeleteI think the dress and headband is really cute!

DeleteIt looks GREAT!!! You did a great job!!! I'm going to try this, I've done it with the swimsuit and sun dress!! Now to do the Onesie
ReplyDeleteThank you. One thing I would change is the type of ribbon. The one I used doesn't stretch so pulling the dress over Lanie's head was a bit of a challenge. But not bad. Learn from each endeavor.
DeleteIt turned out great!
