Fun or Meditation

Coloring is Awesome

Not sure if you noticed or not, but yesterday I was at the office with Xyra. Don't worry, I wasn't home sick; we had an in-service day. Usually they are on a Friday, but the Monday one was nice.

After our fun fashion shoot and review, there were a few hours to wait until it was time to go home. What could I do to pass the time? I tackled some homework, then I read for awhile,
then I pulled out a coloring book and crayons and colored.

Adult coloring is really popular right now. I'm not sure why anyone puts away their crayons, colored pencils, or markers. Coloring is an awesome way to pass the time.
You can really use your imagination when tackling the page and the spaces in between the heavy lines. Be traditional or wacky; stay in the lines or let color fly wild. It's your call.
Xyra loves to color and draw so we have lots of crayons and markers around the house (even at her office). She saw a pack of 50 colored pencils the other day; good ones by Crayola. I have a feeling we will be adding them to our collection soon.

Do you like to color? Do you prefer crayon, colored pencil, or marker? What's your favorite color? Mine are crimson and burgundy.

A bientot!

I'm a pre-school teacher, so I'm ALWAYS coloring. I have a supply of crayons, markers and colored pencils here at home as well. I must admit, I like crayons the best. They come in all kinds of cool colors, you don't have to sharpen them (if you don't want to, but it's an option), and they don't run out of ink. I jusy downloaded a fun coloring page from the Me-TV website of their Super Sci-Fi Saturday Night characters. Old school fun!

    1. So very true! Crayons don't run out until they are too small to hold. Even then the stubs can be melted in another type of art project. :) I did just sharpen a green recently. I like markers for outlining things.

    2. Oh, my goodness! I just found a Crayola 64 Colored Pencils pack that is almost like the crayons box and even includes a sharpener. They are luring us to the dark side. :) Still, crayons rule!

  2. How fun! I have to admit that I have a soft spot for crayons, colored pencils and pens. Glad you had so much fun.

  3. Yesss adult coloring books are the best! I'm currently using one called Lost Ocean by Johanna Basford.
