Stuff and Nonsense

Design Evolution

The Underwear Drawer

Hi! I was folding laundry the other day and noticed differences in underwear.
Variety is the spice of life so I thought it would be fun to share what I found.
First up are the briefs. Briefs typically have a higher waist and lots of coverage all over.
Melody wore this plain white pair when she arrived back in 2000 or 2001 wearing the Urban Outfit.
These cute polka dot panties arrived with the Mod Outfit. The mod outfit was the third AGOT meet outfit and called the Red Vinyl Jumper Outfit
The pattern is really neat and the shape is similar to the plain white.

Bikini panties have a lower waist than briefs, but still offer good coverage. They get their name from the bathing suit.
We have two pair of lavender bikini panties. The one arrived with the Go Anywhere outfit and the second with the Real Me outfit. Here you can see the differences.

Hip huggers have a waistband that sits on your hip bone. They have a little less coverage so they do not show above the waist of low sitting jeans. Lanie arrived wearing royal blue hip hugger panties decorated with a dragonfly.
Cute right?

Boyshorts have a very interesting shape; the leg opening is lower and makes the panty look more like a pair of shorts. They can be like bikinis or hiphuggers in where the waist sits. This pair came with a matching camisole top.

Recently Julie's original meet outfit arrived. it included a pair of pink panties with a butterfly.
They aren't quite briefs, but they aren't quite bikinis either. Maybe we can call them brikinis? (giggles)

Here they all are together.
Okay, I didn't include my pantalettes, because those, well, no one wears them anymore. (giggles)

It's nice to have a choice.

Stop again soon. Have a nice day!

  1. I loved this post! DD does not like it when I check out new dolls' undies, but it is part of the fashion and I need to know! I like Kit's bloomers. Julie's also ring true for me!
