The Republic of Tea: Strawberry Basil Green
First Day of School Tea
Believe it or not I'm the first one up this morning. Now to decide what kind of tea to make.I have three from The Republic of Tea to try: British Breakfast, Honey Ginseng Green, and Organic Strawberry Basil Green iced tea.
British Breakfast is always a good choice. Breakfast teas are blends of black tea for a full flavor.
Honey Ginseng Green would be a good choice. Ginseng is supposed to be good for your memory, and green tea has so many benefits.
The quote on the back fits the day.
"The leaf and the water, what would one be without the other? As with tea, so with life; only in union with ourselves and others, do we join our fullest and truest sense.~ The Minister of Leaves"
On the other hand, it's supposed to be in the mid 90s today and super humid. So starting the day with iced tea could keep me cooler.
Hmmm...decisions, decisions. Yes, I think we will go with the strawberry basil. The instructions tell me to brew this like normal. I have the pot ready.
Will add the tea bag and water and set the timer for 3 minutes.
(Timer beeps)
Done!
It has a lovely color and smells nice too.
Hmmm, not so sure about hot. Let's see how it is cooled and iced. I'll finish eating and getting ready for school.
(Time passes)
Okay, it's cooled and been poured over ice. Let's give it a taste.
Oooo, I like it! The initial taste is fruity, but it's very light. Then the basil kicks in; still light, but lingers more. Yep, I'm ready to go. That combination is refreshing and invigorating.
How did you power up for your first day of school?
Best wishes,

Brianna has been starting her school days with "Birthday Cake" tea (rooibos) from a place called "David's Teas" ... it even has sprinkles in it!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really intersting. How does it taste?
DeleteOh, hey! There is a David's Teas near us! We'll have to check it out. Thank you for the idea!
