Fun Friday: Kirsten Factoids

Get to Know Kirsten

Yikes! I'm getting mine in just under the wire! Oh well, it's still early evening in Hawaii. (giggles)
My full name is Kirsten Larson Silverleaf and my birthday is June 8, 1999.
I don't really have a nickname. I wish I did, Kirsten can be hard to say. I can't tell you how many times I've been called Kristen or even Kris. Ugh!
Of our many pets, two are truly mine. Missy, our grey cat, and her kitten, Inge.
I love them. Missy can be a distraction when I'm trying to read or do homework.
Well, they both can, but Inge is easily distracted, just toss her a ball of yarn. (giggles)

I have a great rag doll named Sari.
Let's see hobbies...um...I like baking, reading, coloring, exploring history, building with Lego, sewing, and watching movies.

Favorites

Animal: Felis catus (giggles) cats.
Book: Pippi Longstocking
Pippi is awesome and her friend, Annaka, has a great name. Plus she has Mr Nielson and Alfonso to keep her company on her adventures.

Color: Blue, all shades, but I think Pacific blue is really soothing.
Food: Lutefisk. (giggles) Um, that would be at the bottom of the list. I really love apples. Great fruit. Can be eaten as is or in a variety of recipes.
Flower: Twinflower, so delicate and pretty.
Instrument: I don't play one, but I like the bassoon.
Movie: Nanny McPhee.
Number: 8
Rock group(s): ABBA, Roxette, Europe, Ace of Base, Yngwie Malmsteen, The Cardigans, Lykke Li, Hailee Steinfeld, Demi Lovato, R5, and Selena Gomez. (giggles) Kaya wants me to tell you, "I forgot to list Selena! She's awesome!"
Sport: I love bowling! Every once in a while I bowl a turkey. It's fabulous when that happens...you know, that means three strikes in a row.
Tea: Blueberry green tea is refreshing hot or cold.
TV Show: Scorpion - the team is brilliant. It's great they can work together to solve problems.

I think that's it. Is there anything you want to know? If yes, feel free to ask me a question in the comment section. Plus I really liked Kaya's questions, so ...

  1. Which photo is your favorite?
  2. Do we have anything in common?
  3. What fact surprised you?

Oh, side note! The bold blue doesn't show up as well against the normal blue, so I had to underline too. No links attached to those underlines.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day! Or night.

First Full Spring Day 2018

Happy First Full Day of Spring

Lanie, Lea, Grace, 2 or more

It is spring, right?
(laughing)
The calendar says so.
I thought the saying was, "March: in like a lion out like a lamb."
(laughing)
This March is a Katy Perry fan and just likes to roar.
(laughing)
Well, I'm going back inside for hot tea.
Sounds good to me.
I'm coming too!

Hoping you and your families are warm and safe today whether you have snow or a real spring day!

Best wishes,

Meatloaf's Rail Adventures #5

Allentown and Auburn

Another holiday finds Meatloaf adventuring along the rails. This time a trip much closer to home. We still got up early, but were able to get in breakfast and Meatloaf's morning walk before heading over the hills to Kutztown, PA.

Runs 1, 2, and 3

The motor cars set on by the Allentown and Auburn station located on Railroad Street. How convenient, right? Meatloaf got settled in the car after the safety meeting.
A very pretty run! It's four miles of farmland.

At the end, by the engine house, Meatloaf got to stretch while the cars turned to go back to the station.

All the weather forecasts said it would be warmer, around 50. I don't think it ever happened and I'm glad we found a new sweater for Meatloaf to wear on these excursions.

The tiny silver stripes are supposed to be reflective, but I think we need to add some safety green to it for next time.

As luck would have it a freight train passed. Meatloaf heard it and barked. Then we watched it pass.
Soon it was time to go back.

We went up and back another time before lunch. Meatloaf explored a bit more this second time.
But was ready to head back again for lunch.

One group went to Basin Street Hotel for lunch. They have really good rye bread; makes for a tasty ham sandwich! We sat with two very nice couples and visited until it was time to go back to the station for run number three.

This time Meatloaf noticed a hand car.
Then went back to the motor car.
And decided it was time for a nap.
Meatloaf loves to supervise set off; he stays close to our car for safety.

It was a great day with a great group of people! A big THANK YOU to the Allentown and Auburn Railroad and the event coordinators for a neat trip. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

Ps. The railroad has Easter bunny trains coming up. Would be fun to do with the family.

Best wishes,
