Emergency Wardrobe Update

ARGH! Not Good

Last Monday Haley showed off a really cute find from Tuesday Morning. The company is Madame Alexander Play and the outfit in question is the Fun in the Sun accessory pack. You've probably see another review on Living a Doll's Life.

I am here to say do NOT leave this swimsuit on your doll!!!!

In fact, I would discourage purchasing it at all. I fully admit Haley has been wearing the suit since last Monday, but she has been in a room with central air set at 75 away from any sunlight.

This morning I was changing outfits getting ready for a lovely tea party and found this.

NO! NO! NO!

Thankfully, the dye only transferred from where the metallic side touched her and not the entire product.

However, the damage is done. I have contacted one of my circle of experts and will contact another shortly. Haley is okay for the tea party, but will then be getting treatments to restore her lovely skin.

Warmest regards to all!

  1. I hope Haley will be okay! This makes me very glad I passed on these outfits. I looked at them when I was at Tuesday Morning but passed because I didn't think the quality was as good as in the past. Guess I was right!

    1. I hope so too. I still like the towel and bucket with toys. Just won't be using the suit anymore! Very glad I didn't try it on anyone else.

  2. Benzoyl peroxide should help with those stains.
To prevent this from happening again, I've heard it's a good idea to thoroughly soak and rinse (and dry, of course) cheap doll clothes to get excess dye off.
I hope Haley gets better soon!

    1. Thank you! That seems to be the consensus with regards to remedy. Will definitely remember to test cheaper additions to the wardrobe in the future.

  3. Oh no! How tragic! I have a set of green wicker dyed chairs that I sometimes let the dolls sit in. I learned the hard way that they are not good for dolls with bare legs to sit in. A few of my dollies have permanent marks on the back of their legs from them. It isn't very noticeable, but still sad. I hope Haley recovers from this terrible allergic reaction soon. <3

I'll keep you posted. This might be something you can try with your crew.
