Kirsten Explores the Snow

Last Snow of Winter?

We Hope

Last week we had a snow storm unlike the others we had this winter. Most of the others were called wintry mixes with layers of snow, sleet, freezing rain, etc. Slippery. slushy, and not a lot of fun. This one, while heavy and wet, was just snow falling quietly and quickly from the sky. We ended up with about 7 inches.

The day after the storm was sunny and bright and Kirsten wanted to explore. She donned the red cape and blue mittens and headed out with me to the office.

I had to wait until the end of the day, but had a great time. Check out the great sights!

Deer tracks!

Look! The deer came across the field here.

Sunset.
Love the snow!

Which is your favorite picture?
Did you enjoy this winter or are you ready for spring?

Wardrobe note: The OG Mad About Plaid boots were great for this outing. They are a thick, molded plastic and kept the snow away from Kirsten's feet.

Best wishes,

  1. I love the tenth picture! :) I like winter a lot, but at the same time I'm glad we're finally getting some warmer weather.

  2. She looks a bit like Little Red Riding Hood in these pics! It's warmed up a lot on this side of the state and we are melting nicely. I'll sure be glad when it's all gone, I've definitely had enough of winter (and snow and negative temps!)

    1. Yes, she does. Just missing the basket. A lot of our snow melted today. I do wish a slow melt for New England with all they have the flooding would be really bad.

    1. Thank you. The cape, mittens, and scarf were all hand knitted by Lady Vanyer who works at ArtFusion 19464 in Pottstown.

  5. Kirsten, my favorite picture is you in your red cloak facing the camera, picture 10. You look right at home in the snow!

    1. Kirsten here. :-) Thank you. With my Swedish heritage the snow seems to be in my blood. But even I am ready to see some daffodils springing from the ground.

  6. My favorite is the next to last one with you standing beside the tree with your back to us. So pretty!

    1. It was fun taking these pictures. We hopped out of the car at the end of the drive to get the last few.

  7. All the pictures are cute, but I think I like the up close ones showing her cute face the best. I hope we have said goodbye to winter for good, because I am ready for spring! We had a huge snowfall last week, too, and it was fun(we made a snow cave), I am done with snow. :)

    1. Thank you . Those are very nice picture. The snow was a bit too deep to get face views on all of the photos and I would have cast a shadow on Kirsten.
