Cafe Set Review

Outdoor or Indoor

Hi! I hope you liked our Enjoying the Outside post. Welcome to part 2, but now we are enjoying an indoor setting.
One of the great things about this set is the weight. It is light enough to move easily from one space to another. So today we are inside.

If you checked out the previous reviews by My Journey Girl Dolls Adventures and Say Hello to My Little Friends, you'll have seen that this set originally came with the table, two chairs, three tiered server with three pink plates, two small pink plates, two pink tea cups, two fabric place mats, four heart cookies, four macrons, and a cupcake. Ours is just slightly different; let me show you.
You've already seen we have the table and chairs. The tiered server is great. The plates hold what they need to. We have the four heart cookies and macrons and two smaller pink plates.
But we also have two larger teal plates that make great chargers for a fancier setting and three chocolate chip cookies. No cupcake, but I can take care of that and bake some up for us.

Then instead of the two pink tea cups we have a lovely teal pitcher with matching tumblers.

I really like having the place mats match the chair cushions. With so many colors, we could also make solid color place mats that would match.
This is a really fun set. I'm looking forward to serving other treats with this set. We have plenty of tea cups too.

Xyra's Notes

After a little digging I believe the chocolate chip cookies, two large plates, pitcher, and tumblers are from the OG pink kitchen set.

As an enthusiast with little room to store large pieces of furniture I like this set for another reason. I was able to figure out how to collapse everything except the table legs.
It all fits in a gallon zipper bag!

Combined Score

We give this set an A.

  • Versatility: 10 - The set and pieces can be used in many ways.
  • Value: 10 - It was listed as $10 for just the table and chairs which was a bit high, but with all the other pieces it's well priced.
  • Quality: 8 - It's plastic, but still sturdy. The details are nice and having soft, permanent cushions is nicer than an all plastic chair. The table has a fun design and a large top. We lean toward Flo's (SHtMLF) opinion here.

What is your favorite treat featured in this set? Do you have this set? What do you think?

À bientôt!

  1. Dear Xyra, I like the set and I think it's really cool that it can be taken apart. I got a table and chair set earlier this year at the AG Outlet. It was at a really good price.
I do want to get a tea set with the pastry stand like you have so my girls can take Afternoon Tea (laugh).
One of my favorite desserts is peanut butter cookies but without chocolate. I cannot eat chocolate.

    1. Peanut butter cookies with the fork hash marks on the top are delicious!

I think I debated about the set at the outlet, but space is such an issue for me decided to pass; it was a good price and quite sturdy!

  2. What a great deal! This is so versatile too. You could make a little bakery stand/cart and easily have a Grace/Paris theme or just use it for a garden party or like an indoor kitchen table!

  4. The easy disassemble is great--good to know that it fits in a 1 gallon bag!!! I think it's one of the cutest sets Journey Girls made, I got it as a substitute for Kit's Birthday set. Way too heavy and bulky to store.

    1. Oh, yes, it definitely doesn't take up a lot of space. Except for the table legs, but that's okay.
