Grace at Fantastic Beasts

Hurrah for Movies!

The morning of New Year's Eve was cold, but I didn't care because I was going to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with Xyra, Lady Vanyer, and Lady Webby. How cool is that?

The original plan was to go to the Movie Tavern in Exton, PA. Unfortunately, it wasn't showing there any more, so we headed to Collegeville instead. Kaya said it was a cool place.

We parked in the lot behind the buildings and headed to "town center."
It's much more lively when you turn that corner and see the theatre. The marquis is as huge as Kaya said.
Sing is playing at The Grand back home. The poster is really neat!
Inside I found another great movie poster. Xyra is looking forward to Hidden Figures. she even talked to Professor M about it.
We were really early, so I started reading The Mage and The Magpie. It's book one in the Magemother series. The first 14 pages are kind of confusing. I hope it gets better as the story grows.
Lady Vanyer arrived next. She smiled and winked when she complimented my outfit. You know, she made the sweater, hat, and mittens. (giggles) Lady Webby wasn't far behind and she had our tickets.
After a short visit we moved into our theatre. The seats are really comfy.
A server came by to take our order. We got popcorn, Hawaiian flatbread, and a cookie.

All too soon the credits were rolling. And i still had cookie to eat!
We watched most of the credits and headed back to the lobby.

The movie was outstanding! I loved all the creatures. The niffler was really funny. Plus one of the main characters was trying to open a bakery! His pastries looked super tasty! I know we'll be adding this one to our movie collection.

Xyra's Notes

  • Loved this movie! The casting was perfect. I ended up wanting to be one of Newt's assistants. He was very caring with the creatures.
  • Newt was the light side of the movie, but you can't seem to have light without dark. The dark included neglect, bullying, trust placed in the wrong people, anger, destruction, and a couple of deaths.
  • There are a few surprises. I'm looking forward to the next wizarding world installments.
  • One thing I found interesting is this movie is set in 1926 - the same year Tom Marvolo Riddle was born.

Have you seen Fantastic Beasts? If yes, what was your favorite part? Or you favorite creature?

À bientôt!

  1. I really liked Fantastic Beasts, fun to see a story that takes place before Harry Potter. I loved when Newt climbs into the suitcase and then waves his hand to get Jacob to come with him. Can you imagine how fun and scary that would be?

Looking forward to Hidden Figures too! Love Lady Vanyer's work, the set we have that she made is so cute!

    1. I know, especially after just settling in with hot cocoa and a good book! Jacob getting stuck was funny too!

Lady Vanyer gave us a new cardigan sweater and a pair of socks this year. Love them!
