Memorial
Tribute
Many of you have felt the heartbreak of losing a pet. While the promise of everlasting life is shared during the memorial of a beloved human, the most frequently shared promise during the memorial of a beloved pet is that of Rainbow Bridge. We are sharing it today in honor and memory of all feathery, finny, furry, and scaly family members everywhere.
The Rainbow Bridge story
~Author unknown
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Thank you for your continued support. Hugs!

ReplyDeleteRIP Thunder. I've lost a few pets, and I know what a sad time this is for you right now. Hang in there, hun.
Awww R.I.P Thunder! :(
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteRIP Thunder . I hope he is eternally happy in pet heaven :) I understand how it feels . A few years ago , I lost my beloved parakeet to cancer :( The saddest part was his mate , Hedwig , got very depressed . She is still very sad and doesn't sing often , but she sings every now and then :) Hopefully we can get her back to a pet store where she can be with other birds of her kind . I know Thunder misses you bunches , but remember Thunder is happy .
ReplyDeleteSorry about your parakeet and his mate. Perhaps there is a bird rescue that would be better suited than a pet store. Or are you wanting to find her a new mate?
DeleteYes, Thunder is happy and the right size; he came to us very overweight. now he can eat what he wants and still be a small puss.
Thank you for sharing the Rainbow Bridge story. This is the second time this week it's been mentioned to me because of the loss of special pets. R.I.P. dear Thunder.
ReplyDeleteOh, so sad you have heard it twice this week.
DeleteI'm crying right now! Beautiful story, R.I.P. beautiful Thunder.
ReplyDeleteI know, it always gets me too. Thank you.
DeleteIt must be a bad week for pets, someone else I know lost their dog to cancer yesterday. :( RIP Thunder (and Daisy).
ReplyDeleteYes, it must. Kiki's Korner mentioned seeing the story previously this week. I feel for your friend's loss. So hard to say goodbye to loved ones.
