All Things Autumn
Hi! It's November and time to reveal our new calendar build. Yay!
During brainstorming we thought about everything that is autumn. Not an easy task since we've still felt like summer until this week and now it feels like winter! Anyway, we continued this year's tree theme and kept the pumpkin calendar look.
We did do some shopping for this one and incorporated parts of this year's Lego Thanksgiving Harvest set, but then added parts of other sets and our own flair...more than 15 pieces of flair. (giggles)
The Reveal
And here it is!

Okay, maybe we shouldn't have the turkey sitting in the sky area. We might tweak that as the days go by.
Bunnies are invading the garden. Friends and pets are playing in the leaves strewn about the lawn.

(In Which the Museum is Not Featured)
Wait! What? No photos of the power museum today? Nope. See what happens the day we go home happens really quickly! Going out for breakfast, packing everything up and collapsing the tent and doing one last canvas of the area to make sure everything is winterized properly. Then we pile in the truck and head east!
It usually takes anywhere between 4 and 5 hours on the road. This time it was closer to 5 because we encountered traffic slowdowns at 3 different construction merge points on I-80. It's terrible! All these people flying by in the lane that is to close thinking they can get ahead in the line. Do you notice this when you go on road trips?
Anyway, by the time we got home my sisters had joined other neighbors up on Main Street to watch the Halloween parade. I didn't find them, just watched on my own, well, with Xyra. Here's what I saw...

I loved how it got darker as the parade moved on by. Usually we are bundled up in heavy jackets with hats and gloves. No need this year. Xyra was there in a tee shirt! She had her sweatshirt with her but didn't need it. There was more to see, but we were in charge of ordering and picking up pizza. I loved what I saw and we all enjoyed relaxing and talking over pizza.

Day Four
Saturday has a different feel to it. A lot of the people in the field have left, but the buildings are still humming away. So I struck out early to see what I could before the winterizing began.
A lot has happened since the last time I was here, so I wanted to check out the new buildings up on "the hill." Over in Pat's Place you can find another DeLeVergne. it's not a Hornsby-Akaroyd.
However, it still looks cool and runs well.
Over here is the engine Cali Greg runs.
It's a White and Middleton.
I love the way the sun glints off this fly wheel.
This one is missing a few pieces. I bet it's someone's restoration project. It a Bradford.
Paul's Pavillion is more complete than when Lea and Grace were here.
Then we headed to the Coolspring General Store for ice and Swedish fish! It's an easy walk. The General Store is behind the red SUV.
On our way back we stopped at Friends Exhibit Hall. Engines flank the entrance.
This is an interesting engine.
I think it's one of my favorites.
Friends or FEH is the place to stop if you to rest or need a pick me up. You can find all sorts of treats.
And beverages here. Picnic tables too. All for a free will donation.
Of course, I had to visit the Snow.
It's so, so big! 600 horse power big!
Not sure what this does, but it looks cool. It's part of the Exley Station building display.
By the time I got down off the hill the temps had risen enough to take off my sweatshirt.
We cut through the Lillibridge building and saw the Miller.
Then I headed around to the other end of the Power Tech building to see this vertical engine.
And the Twin Klein.
This is a great view of the Otto running.
Showing the original paint has more flare than repainting.
