Mini Adventure #4

A Blue Friend

Felicity, Rebecca, Both...New Friend

Just Hangin' Out

Let's go over to the tea nook.
Sure. Hey, who's that at the nook?
She's tiny.
And they call us mini.
Hi, I'm Felicity.
And I'm Rebecca. What's your name?
I'm Blueberry Muffin.
What brings you to the tea nook?
I thought I blended well with the surroundings.
That you do. Would you like to sit with us.
I would, but I can't. I will stand with you if you don't mind.
Not at all. We like meeting new friends.
This is a great place to hang out.
We like it.

Thank you for checking in on the mini dolls. Stop back again to see what else they do or who they meet next.

Best wishes!

Olympic Snack

Meanwhile Inside...

Kirsten, Lanie, Both
Hi!
Lanie & Kirsten here.
The other day Melody and Kaya ventured outside. While they were checking out the snow, we were preparing a super yummy Olympic-themed snack.
Actually, Lady Jem sent us an awesome treat from Germany. A Lambertz Baumkuchen Edel-Zarbitter-Scholkolade.

This picture is a little blurry, but that’s it in the box.

So we opened the box and unwrapped the plastic…

And put the cake on a plate.
It’s an almond cake enrobed in dark chocolate.

Sorry, another slightly blurry picture. But doesn’t it look tasty?
The chocolate is a hard shell around the cake, so pieces break off when you cut it. Not fluffy frosting.
It’s kind of like an Entenmann’s Rich Chocolate Frosted Donut, but thicker chocolate and denser cake.
Super yummy! Thank you, Lady Jem!

Then we thought... (flashback conversation)
What should we have with the cake?
We’re watching the Olympics, right?
Oh, yeah! The Russian Morning tea from Kusmi. Awesome idea!

So we boiled our water, put tea in the glass pot, and let it steep. The hot tea was perfect with the cake.

Kirsten was thrilled Saturday when the Swedish women’s cross country team won their relay. She was funny to watch…intently muttering, “Go, Sweden!” until the last sprint when she started bouncing up and down and yelling, “Go, Kalla! Go, Kalla! Go, Kalla! Woo Hoo!”
(giggling then getting serious) We missed seeing the Swedish men win their relay.

Countries involved in the making of this post...USA, Germany, France, Russia, China, India, Sri Lanka.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!

Best wishes,

Cloaked Kirsten

I Love Outings!

Beyond the Driveway

So my trip the other day did not stop in the driveway. I went out with Xyra to do my photo shoot in the red cloak.

I don't know about you, but I really feel like Little Red Riding Hood in this cloak. I just need a basket. Not sure if I'm more like the story or Ruby from Once Upon a Time or Cerise Hood of Ever After High. Which is your favorite?

At first it was too dark...

so we took a few more after noon.

Lena tagged along on this one and we had fun watching the birds outside the window together.

Hope you enjoyed this photo shoot.

Stay warm, safe, and happy!

Kirsten Ventures Out

The sun is out today so I wanted to take a little walk and show you the snow in our driveway. We've had several storms and no time for it to melt away in between so...it's getting pretty high.

Stay warm, friends! See you again soon.

Best wishes!

Love Winter?

More Snow Pictures

Melody, Kaya, both

You may or may not have heard about the big nor'easter storm that hit the east coast Wednesday into Thursday. There arereally three parts to the storm. The snow that fell from Wednesday night into Thursday, the rain and sleet Thursday evening, and then more snow to come overnight.

Shortly after noon, Kaya and I decided to take a  few pictures outside. Tatlo trotted along with us. First we went the same spot where we stood when we saw the groundhogs.

Because the sky is cloudy it is really hard to tell where the snow ends and the sky begins. I'm starting to understand what the skiing commentators are talking about when they talk about how light changes the course.
Our house is on a hill so the snow line behind me is more accurate. the snow is up to our shoulders.

Then we went out back
And found this great "cave."
Never go into a cave unless it has been explored before. You don't want to get stuck or meet a wild animal.
It's really a space under one of our bushes, but the snow hasn't been accumulating under there, so it's really cool.
The snow is higher back here.
Over our heads.
It started to drizzle, so we went back inside.
But I took one more look out over the backyard. You can see it is around 30 degrees right then.
Oh, and remember that day when Haley and I were by the snowman bird feeder? It's almost touching the snow now.

Hope you had a good day today. Sending warm thoughts to all our friends.
