Backyard Wildlife Habitat

Nana Kestrel's Backyard

Hi! Did you know you can certify your backyard or garden as backyard wildlife habitat through the National Wildlife Federation? Nana Kestrel did this a long time ago. The last week or so Nana Kestrel and Great Auntie DiPawl were out west so we looked after her kitties and the habitat. It's fun to sit and watch what goes on out there. So I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves. One quick note, you may have to click on a photo to make it big enough to see all the detail.

Before we head into the backyard...this is Keeder. He loves sitting in the windows.

Now...to the Garden

After we filled the feeders and refilled the birdbaths we'd go inside and watch.

Chipmunk - this one was close there were quite a few scurrying through the yard.

Red squirrel

What is your favorite photo? Favorite visitor to the habitat?

Oh, and Xyra wanted me to let you know it's Coolspring week, so this will be the only post this week. Look for us to return next week.

We're so glad you stopped to visit. Come again soon!

The Build: June 2018

Just Hanging Out

With a Flying Officer

Hi! Guess what?!
.
.
.
.
It's my birthday! Yay!
Aaannnddd, I got my wish! To show off our new calendar build to you. I really hope you like it. we had to shift gears a couple times.

Oh, Missy! What are you doing? Be careful.
Me-ouf.
We have two hangouts.

On this end is a tea shop.
Andrea and Emma are enjoying tea and cupcakes. Aira took a shift in the shop. Missy, please be careful!
Purrrrrrup

Over here is a shady spot where Stephanie, Emily, and Josh are talking.
Our vehicle is the police officer's neat, wing-ed ride. She's flying over to check out the crowd.
Might even stop for some tea. (giggles) Aira never gets a ticket as long as her wind keeps the cop flying straight. (giggles)

The surrounding area is filled with green plants and pretty flowers. Not to mention a few bunnies.

Oh, the rows! Green for vegetation. Blue for sky. Grey for rain. White for the clouds.
Here you can get a better look at Toffee, the pug, and Josh.

purr purr purr pruup
Oh, Missy! (giggles)
My parrot kitty! So what do you think of our June build this year? What's you favorite feature?

Thank you for stopping! Come again soon!

Strawberry Festival

New Goshenhoppen UCC

That's pronounced gosh-en-hop-en; just like the folk festival we go to in August and the Christmas Market in December. It's one of our local churches and they held their annual strawberry festival last weekend. I really wanted to go and Xyra found out her one friend was going to be there as a vendor, she wanted one of her candles! So we went! Yay!

We arrived during the auction. It was interesting to see the donations and hear how much they raised for the Sunday School.

Then Xyra from the candles and talked for a bit with her friend.

I had a great time on the playground.

Then we spotted Lady Apple and had lunch with her. Very tasty.

We were all headed out after that.

I spotted a neat train ride.

You know, we forgot to have dessert at the festival. WHAT?! I know, right?! So we made up for and stopped at Stauffer's Produce Stand to get some of their berries.
Super tasty! I shared the strawberry tops with Lulu, Nutmeg, and Razzi. They loved them!

Do you like strawberries? If yes, what is your favorite way to eat them? If no, what is your favorite fruit?

Do you have festivals or community events like this in your area?

See you again soon!
