Fun Friday: Tina Factoids

Get to Know Tina

Happy Friday, all!  Hope you had a great week!  Mine started with a plane trip back to Philly from our visit to Gramma Enne and Opa Hans in Carson City, Nevada.  What an adventure!  But I get to share that with you in a different post.

I joined the Tea Time with Melody Q crew and Silverleaf family in early July of 2023.  Mel and the others have been helping me with short interviews ever since then.  Let's get started.

My full name is Tina Mae Johnson Silverleaf.  My birthday is November 26, 2013 and I'm a Sagittarius.  There are books about a girl that looks like me.  Her name is Melody Ellison and she is a New Year's baby born in 1954; she's a Capricorn like Melody Q.

I don't have any nicknames. [Yet!]

I don't have any pets. [We have plenty to share!]

I was recently gifted my own Melody Ellison doll and love her.  mel and Bev picked her out.  [You're welcome!]  She went on the trip with me.

Should you be a Harry Potter fan like we are, you'll be interested to know I was sorted into Hufflepuff.

When I'm not reading or hanging our with the crew, you'll find me working on miniatures or coloring.

My Favorites

Animal:  Hamster; and love the two resident hamsters here.

Book:  Rebound.  It's a really good story about a boy who is working through grief.  It's all in poetry!

Color:  Aqua

Food:  Real Mexican, especially chicken mole.

Flower:  Daisies and violets

Instrument:  Guitar and dulcimer

Movie:  Who has just one favorite movie.  I'm a fan of the DC universe movies:  Wonder Woman, Aquaman.  Also the Marvel Universe, Black Panther, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Shang Chi.

Number:  4, 7, and 11.  (giggles)

Rock group/musician:  I like a bunch!  Music is great at all times; however, my favorites include:  Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, The Struts, Rhianna, Taylor Swift, Sza.  Sometimes I listen to the Kidzbop channel on Sirius XM.

Sport:  I like watching football and Australian rules football.  I also like basketball and am looking forward to March Madness.

Tea:  Strawberry tea is the best.  Not the artificially flavored kind; that stuff is terrible.  Stay away strawberry cheesecake tea.  BLECH!

TV show(s):  American Born Chinese, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Castle, Rise of the Pink Ladies, Death in Paradise, Only Murders in the Building.

There you go.  If there is anything else you want to know, please feel free to ask me in the comments.  Be certain it is polite and appropriate.  Let me know your favorite photo from the post too.

Have a great Friday and weekend!

Welcome 2024 - Later than Scheduled

How is it January 27 Already?!

Hi, All!

How are you doing?  Happy New Year!  Wasn't January 1, just yesterday?  Well, I suppose not since it's January 27 and so much has happened.  I'm here with Star to give you an update.  We're in our January jammies, Star has her blanket, and somewhere around here is a book.  LOL

First, we welcomed in the new year, just hanging out watching TV at home.  We called Gramma Enne at midnight our time.

Next, on January 8 we celebrated Elvis Presley's birthday and our 11th blogiversary.  11!  Not a big celebration this year since we are so behind on posts from 2023.  Yes, behind.  Tina still needs to post her fun factoids.  Kirsten needs to report on her trip to Coolspring.  Photo shoots from Christmas, etc.

Xyra and I celebrated birthdays on January 14.  We went to Chibi Cafe Co for boba tea and cho bites!

And then one of us is planning a trip to Nevada to see Gramma Enne and Opa Hans.  Any guesses who will make the trip?  Whoever is going will be sure to eat bananas.

We also want to talk to you about a brand of EArl Grey tea that just isn't good.  We found it at HomeGoods.  As black tea goes it's okay, but lacks the tangy bergamot we love.  And it gets bitter quickly.  So if you love traditional Earl Grey , stay away from this brand.  If you're not really fan of Earl Grey, you may like this.

We hope to be posting a bit more this year than last so stop in when you can.  Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, we post teaser photos now and then.

Have a great day and weekend!

Organ Recital at Ursinus College

Organ Music is Beautiful!

Field Trip to UC

What a fun afternoon!

I went with Xyra to the Heefner Memorial Organ Recital Series featuring Alan Morrison at Ursinus College.  By the way, it's pronounced Er-sigh-nuss.

The campus is beautiful!

They have a map if you're not sure where you are going.  We didn't need it.  THis is Xyra's alma mater.

The organ is in Bomberger Hall.

It's a beautiful instrument!

Alan Morrison is a wonderful musician and very nice guy!
We had originally planned to sit in the balcony, but we were chatting with a few people Xyra knew and before we knew it it was time for the recital to start.  So we stayed downstairs.
Gramma Enne would have loved this!

Have you ever been to an organ recital?

Thank you for stopping by!  If you have any questions, please leave a comment.

Have a great day!
