Meatloaf's Rail Adventures #10

Where Does Meatloaf Go on Holidays?

The Heritage Rail Trail

Yes, you guessed it! Franz and Xyra and Meatloaf headed to New Freedom, PA to ride the rails. You know they picked up Leg Lare as well.
I don't know about where you are, but our July 4 was really hot and humid here. Meatloaf finally has his own authentic safety green vest with reflective material and all. He looked adorable!
He took up his regular spot, but Xyra had a new bag. It was kind of hard to see out the window of the C&O car, but he'd look up and see the trees and sky. He could turn around and see the rails out the side of the car. At one crossing Meatloaf hopped down to the running board and checked Leg Lare's car.
Then looked at what was coming ahead.
At Hanover Junction Station Meatloaf started to explore.
But headed for the shade!
He looked over to the garden.
Stayed in the shade.
Soon they were heading off down the tracks. So many people out biking.
The Howard Tunnel was exciting!

Can you tell it's getting darker?
The lead car brought equipment to free the flanges in Howard Tunnel to make it easier to pass. The skies got darker and darker. They finished just in time for the rain to really start and for all the cars to get into the tunnel.
Everyone at lunch and operators checked the cars for needs like fuel, coolant, etc.

The weather eased up enough to get to the turning point at Brillhart Station. As soon as they turned the thunder started to roll and the rain came down again.
Then it was straight back to Hanover Junction Station again. The rain had stopped and there was blue sky. Buuuuuttttttt.....
Grey skies loomed.
And before they left, the sky started dripping again. He had time to check out the flag and a tiny bit of blue sky.
The thunder and rain hit again in New Freedom when they loaded up to go home.
First to Leg Lare's where they visited on the back porch for a break in the storm before unloading. then off to Nana Kestral's to drop off the C&O. Meatloaf was ready to go home and rest.

How did you celebrate Independence Day? what is your favorite photo from Meatloaf's latest trip to the Heritage Trail?

Best wishes,

In the Summertime

Chillin' on the Patio

Grace, Kaya, Lea, 2 or more

Hey, Lea!
Hey, what?
What are you up to?
Just chillin'.
You don't even have the radio on!
I know, but I'm listening to different music.
Huh?
The wind in the trees, birds chirping or screeching, cars going by on the road, neighbors calling dogs, but especially the wind.
Neat!
We were wondering if you want to come with us.
Yeah, we have the scooter.
Sounds like fun, but I think I want to stay here.
Okay. Don't forget to re-apply!
Catch you later.
Yep!
Ah, Bonbon, if you want to go with Grace you can. I won't mind.
(woof)
Hey, Kaya!
Yeah, I smell it too.
Someone is grilling!
Smells yummy!
Mmmm, I smell bar-b-que.
Hey, Lea!
Yeah, I smell it too! Must be time for dinner!
(laughing)

Do you get to grill during the summer months? Do you grill all year long?

We have no idea which neighbor was grilling, but it smelled yummy!

Best wishes,

Summer and Shoes

Let's Go Outside

I thought eating lunch outside would be fun. It doesn't seem that hot.
Coco wanted to come too. She brought her bone.
Did we forget anything? Nope.
Yummy sandwich. (Coco sniffing) Sorry, Coco not for you.
Yeah, I need more sunscreen.
Maybe we should just go inside.

Too Hot; Let's Go Inside

Shoe Love

I love being barefoot, but I also like shoes.
Last time I was organizing I realized we have some favorites from OG-Less; and in some cases the same style shoe in a different color.
These are our favorites. All but two have something in common; they are flats. Can you spot which are different?
How about the ones that are the same? Why would we buy the same pair in a different color? Because they fit well and look cute.
The navy and black pairs in the front row have bows. They are great neutral shoes.
The light purple and burgundy shoes in the second row have roses and make for a fun pop of color with a neutral outfit or complete the look if the color coordinates.

The cool thing about all of these shoes...they go nicely with shorts, skirts, cropped pants, pants, dresses.
Do you have any duplicates in your wardrobe? How about favorite shoes?

Xyra's Notes

  • None of the above shoes were purchased alone. Each came with an Our Generation  (OG) outfit.
  • When we shop the OG outfits we look at the shoes. This style works best with AG feet. We've found the molded t-straps and boots rarely fit. Although you can slit the back of the molded boots.
  • The OG shoes sold separately are great! They tend to be fabric and much easier to wear.

Do you have a favorite photo from the post? Feel free to ask questions too! We love to chat with you!

Best wishes,
