Who Wears it Best?

Haley arrived in a really cute cold weather outfit.

She looked great, will if fit the rest of us?

First Haley.
Hmmm, the pants are lined with nylon. Interesting idea. I wonder if it so they go on easily?
Lanie is next. She grabbed a purse to add.
Then Kaya. She kept the sweater closed.
My turn.
Finally, Kirsten. She left the sweater open.

Note: The pants were tight on me and Kaya, but still closed. Kirsten could not get them closed.

Thank you for dropping by. Have a great day!

Nana Kestrel's Doll

Every Girl Should Have A Doll
(If she wants one)

Haley, Kaya, Kirsten, Lanie, Melody

Who is this?
Nana Kestrel said her name is Patsy.
It was her doll when she was a girl.
Really?
Cool!
Her dress is pretty.
That was made by Nana's grandma.
I heard her say it is feed sack material.
Like Kit's dress.
Neat!
She has a pretty face too.
Nice eyes.
Nana said she is a composition doll.
What?
She's made of wood pulp. They took the place of porcelain dolls. They were marketed as "unbreakable."
That's neat.
Head and limbs are the same stuff, see her feet?
They are cute.

Now pose for Xyra!
Oh, my! We'll have to better for Christmas.

Home and watching a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. What a fun day?!
What do you think of our thanksgiving outfits?

PS. We're working on adding a signature for Haley.

Pumpkin Pie with Kirsten

Kirsten and Xyra

Baking a Pumpkin Pie

Let's get cracking if the pie is to be ready for Nana Kestrel's.
Oh, let me help.
Sure thing, Kirsten. Good thing you are still in your baking outfit.
(giggling)
I've got everything in order.
This isn't too hard. Follow the instructions on the back of the can.
I've whisked up the sugar and spices.
Very good.
Now we beat the eggs.
I've whisked them up too.
Nice. I'm glad they don't have to be stiff. I have a lot of respect for our fore-mothers who created exquisite food and confections without power mixers.
So true!
Filling poured over the crust in the pie plate. Ready to go into the oven.
I'll wait here during the first 15 minutes.
Are you sure?

Later...

Looks fabulous!
We have to let it cool.
Will be perfect for dinner.

Biggest Travel Day

Today is the biggest travel day in the US so I wanted to share our trip to Gramma Enne's.

Way back before I had sisters and before Xyra even knew about doll blogs she had heard about Flat Stanley, Paper Pierre, and other family projects where a beloved plush traveled the country (or world) and had pictures sent back home. So off we went to Nevada and Gramma Enne's.

We packed, dressed comfortably, and headed out. Being x-rayed was not a lot of fun, but at least I got to keep wearing my shoes. Then we got to the gate. We flew Southwest.
The flight was nice. Xyra likes the window seat so I could look out for most of the trip. [This seat also made it easy for her to keep a hold of me during take off and landing. They don't let you do that anymore.]

When we arrived Morrisa and Gracie checked out our bags and actually became our roommates during our stay.
Morrisa liked to sit with me and Grrr.

We went on a walking tour and saw Mark Twain's brother's house. It is now an office but very pretty. Check out the pretty glass above the door.

Another day we went to Virginia City and rode the Virginia Truckee Railroad down to Gold Hill.

The tunnel was really dark.
The Emporium was fun.
Sunday we went to church. The doors have pretty Frank Lloyd Wright style glass design.

I found this cute book to read.
The dessert was in bloom during our visit and very pretty. Check out the sage and other flowers.

Another trip took us off to Lake Tahoe.

Then it was time to head home. We had a stop in Denver and found this really pretty waiting area.

The visit was too short, but lots of fun.

Be safe in your travels! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
