Yard Sale Finds

Fun Finds For Little Cash

This is the best time of year for finding those great "new to you" items while making only a tiny dent in your pocket money.

These are my latest finds.

Books

If you don't mind used books, yard sales are the best place to shop. While the selection is hit or miss, you should get see prices from as little as 10 cents up to maybe $5 (I won't pay more than $3 at a yard sale for books and even that is stretching it).
These were 5 for $1. So guess what...more book reviews on the way!
[If you've read any of these let me know.]

Toys and Games

This Polly Pocket car will be perfect for the girls who live in my dollhouse (you'll meet them later). The doors open and the seat belts work too. Check out all the angles.

It was 50 cents.

This travel game is perfect for Melody and her sisters on rainy days or when they aren't contributing new things for blog posts.
This was 25 cents.

As noted by our trip to the lake...we love turtles (and hedgehogs, and hamsters, cats, dogs, etc). This little guy was in the "Free" box.

He works perfectly fine.

This little cow is soo cute!
I thought it would make a great suitcase charm for Lanie. 25 cents.

Doll Wear

Check the people who have out baby clothes. Preemie and newborn onesies can be cut to make great tee shirts for your 18" dolls. Earlier this year I picked up two for $1 and made them into Camp Doll Diaries shirts.

This pretty pink dress with silver stars...
I don't know if it will fit anyone yet. But is it well constructed. Looks nice (not grungy) and was only 10 cents.

This former hair tie was in the free box.

I'm going to take it apart and use the scarfy things for something else. If you have any suggestions, we'd be glad to hear them.

That's all for now.
Best wishes,

  1. You could use the hair tie as a tutu for a barbie!
